Recently showcased some prototype costumes for the 1470 Doll as designed by Doug James and issued in 2021 with some great feedback at a club meeting.
Four of the costumes presented here are “factory issue” by the company and the remainder are adapted from patterns or my own designs and materials. My primary goal with this display was to practice sewing dresses for the 1922-1928 era which is when my grandmother would have been a teenager and going to school and to socials, and maybe the river to go swimming. The lines were simple and since she was a “southern belle” the dresses would have been lightweight. I have more projects to finish, but this was a start. Gradually want to move backward to the Edwardian era and do more elaborate ballgowns for this doll. Soon…
